Misen Minis Description

Maybe you’ve got small hands. Or maybe you just prefer the way a smaller knife handles (pun intented). This knife trio is perfectly curated with our most precise petites, and includes:

  • 5.5 inch Utility Knife: Sometimes a Chef’s Knife is just too much to manage, especially if your hands are on the smaller side. This easier-to-use, scaled-down version is also strong enough to get through a hard melon.
  • 3.5 inch Paring Knife: Ideal for cutting fruits, mincing garlic, or any delicate work you do in the air.
  • 5 inch Serrated Knife: A just-right solution for slicing everything from tomatoes to bagels.

From thank-you gifts to birthday surprises, these small wonders make a big impact.

Why The Misen Minis is Great

  • Japanese AUS-10 Steel: Ultra-high carbon content keeps the knives sharper, longer than German steel. Translation? Easier, safer cutting. And you won’t need to sharpen them as often.
  • Sloped Bolster: Designed to guide your hand to a comfortable and natural grip, with a curved blade “heel” to protect your fingers from getting cut.
  • Hybrid Blade Shape: Combines the rounded belly of German knives with the flatter profile of Japanese knives. It’s the perfect mashup for all cutting motions – chopping, rocking, drawing, or slicing!
  • Ergonomic Handle + Clean Material: Crafted from POM, a strong thermoplastic. Unlike wood, it won’t crack or harbor germs, and unlike plastic, it’s not slippery and won’t wear out
  • Wave-Like Serrations: Most serrated knives have sharp, pointy teeth. Ours are designed with slightly rounded tips, so it more gently glides through food with fewer, smoother strokes.
  • Rockwell Scale: The ideal hardness range is 58-60. Any lower, it’s too soft and inefficient; any higher, it’s prone to chipping. Ours rate at 58. Just right.

    My Favorite Knife

I'm just a home cook but love cooking and having great tools. I have all Misen knives and pans. This is my favorite knife for all my chopping, dicing, mincing, cutting meat, everything. I have smaller hands and this one just fits perfectly! I have great control and never feel like it's too big for whatever I'm working with.

    It's a good knife

I like the size of this knife. It's perfect for light duty kitchen chores. It has a great balance and feel. I wouldn't use it for heavy duty chopping or dicing, but it's fine for lighter jobs. I really don't understand why Misen doesn't recommend putting it in the dishwasher. A dishwasher friendly knife would be a plus. Compared to a less expensive Victorinox utility knife, I like this one more because of it's weight.

    Small useful knife

I found using the Utility Knife also from Misen to cut small things like cherry tomatoes/plums to be a bit of an overkill so I bought the paring knife along with the serrated knife. This one is so small it's almost kind of cute, but scary sharp right out of the box and cuts everything with ease, definitely loving it.
