How did I ever live without Misen knives?
Until you've had one in your hand and sliced a red pepper or tomato and witness the blade effortlessly slicing with the help of gravity and Misen's recommended grip on the knife, you haven't sliced! I've never owned or used a knife that sliced with so much precision and little effort.
Two holidays ago, I spent $400 on a popular German knife set, thinking they should wow me. I was so underwhelmed. They did the job but they never sliced like a Misen. They cut like any other knife which means it took effort and the slicing/cutting wasn't always smooth. Don't get me wrong, I was happy when I got new knives but when I got my first Misen knive, I was rather elated, taking pictures, sharing with friends (OK, my life is boring but having a sharp knife is oddly satisfying).
But buying one Misen knife was a gamechanger. In fact, I am buying two more Misen knives to make my three-knife collection all that my kitchen needs. The German knives are being handed down to the kids. Don't wait until you're my age to buy good knives. Do it now and take a lifetime to enjoy them. Like I said, oddly satisfying.
If you enjoy the kitchen and cooking, this is an inexpensive way to never grab a dull knife from the drawer again. It's well built and very handsome in the kitchen--a little work of art. Happy slicing.
