Works Harder, Stays Sharper
The 8" ACUTO440 Serrated Knife is built for the tasks where a standard chef's knife tends to struggle — slicing through a crackling sourdough crust, cutting a ripe tomato without squashing it, or portioning a delicate sponge cake cleanly. Its 25 wide-set, wave-style serrations grip and glide rather than drag, so you get clean cuts with far less tearing. The blade runs 8.1 inches, giving you enough length to saw through a full-sized loaf in one smooth stroke.
What sets this knife apart from most serrated blades is the steel. AICHI ACUTO440 is a Japanese high-carbon stainless alloy with roughly 18% chromium — significantly more than standard high-carbon steel — and it's been lab-certified to resist rust through 50 days submerged in water and 100 dishwasher cycles. That said, hand washing and immediate drying will keep it performing at its best longest. The ergonomic rounded spine makes a pinch grip comfortable even during longer slicing sessions. If you want a smaller option for citrus or individual rolls, the 5" ACUTO440 Serrated Knife covers that range well. For a complete ACUTO440 kitchen setup, see the full 7-Piece ACUTO440 Knife Set.
