It’s a good block with a good looking design. Unfortunately it is more horizontal than vertical. I like my knife blocks to sit upright.

Products work well, getting alot of use and very happy with purchase

The knife storage block was "as expected" from MISEN. Perfect. It fits in the only space I have for storage on my counter. It saves the knives from damage in my utensil drawer.

Since I have only the basic set of three knives, the five slots gave me room to store a fish filet knife, and another kitchen knife. The latter two knives are good for practice on the MISEN whetstones, and it's always good to have more than one sharp knife at the ready.

I've already learned two things about using whetstones. One, that if I'm careful, I may never need the coarse grit for sharpening the knives, but it's a great stone for keeping the finer grit stone flat. Two, don't remove the slurry that forms when sharpening. A few drops of water mixed with the slurry keeps the surface of the stone in good shape for forming the edge of the knife. Rinse the slurry off the stone when you are finished.

I recently purchased the Misen Knife Block for my new set of Misen knives. What I like about this block is that it doesn't take up very much counter space. It's sleek design is much nicer than the usual large size knife block. The knives slip in and out easily.
