The Misen 6" Bunka Knife is a Japanese-style blade that bridges the gap between a full-size chef's knife and a paring knife. Its defining feature is the angled, pointed tip — called a bunka or kiritsuke tip — which gives you the control needed for detail work like julienning vegetables, scoring proteins, or breaking down herbs, while the 6" length still handles everyday slicing and chopping with ease.
Made from ACUTO440 steel, the blade holds a sharp edge well and responds readily to a honing rod between uses. The compact size makes it especially approachable for cooks with smaller hands or tighter cutting boards, and the bold red handle offers a secure, ergonomic grip. If you're building out a matching set, the 5.5" Utility Knife in Red and the 5" Serrated Knife in Red complement this blade well — both share the same ACUTO440 steel and handle color. Prefer a different look? The same Bunka is also available in Blue and other colorways.
