Why the 8" White ACUTO Chef Knife Excels in Everyday Prep
An 8" chef's knife is the workhorse of most kitchens, and this ACUTO440 version earns that role by combining a hybrid blade shape with a rounded spine and bolster, so it rocks through herbs, glides through vegetables, and holds up when you're breaking down meat. Because it's forged from AICHI ACUTO440 Japanese steel with higher chromium content, it resists rust even after a long soak or a trip through the dishwasher, and it stays sharp far longer than typical high-carbon blades.
For finer, more delicate work, pairing it with the 5.5" utility knife gives you better control on small produce and garnishes, while the 8" serrated knife handles crusty bread and tomatoes the chef's knife isn't built for. If you're outfitting a kitchen from scratch, the 7-piece knife set bundles this chef's knife with the rest of the lineup at better value.
Hand wash and dry it right after use, and plan on sharpening every 4 to 6 months to keep the edge performing at its best. Some cosmetic discoloration can happen with acidic foods, but that's normal for high-carbon steel and doesn't affect the blade's durability or rust resistance.
